Our Founders

Our inspiration for striving for educational excellence was laid down by our founder of SSM Educational Trust (Late) Mr. Namdeo Jagannath Lokegaonkar. Overcoming all the odds, he completed his formal education and became a teacher to begin the honorable cause of educating the masses. Today, we are at par with the leading schools of Mumbai because of our beloved founder.

Progress of a nation is determined by the knowledge and education imparted to all of its citizens. This undeniable fact was well understood by Mr. Namdeo Lokegaonkar and hence he founded SSM Educational Trust on 15th March 1959. And, so began the quest for educational excellence.

Alongside was the co-founder of SSM Educational Trust (Late) Mrs. Sunanda Namdeo Lokegaonkar, who helped this sapling grow into a mighty tree of the future. A descendant of Mr. Vishnupant Gopal Rawale, a renowned social worker and leader of the masses, popular in Mumbai during 1950s. She came with the conviction of giving back to the society and serving for betterment of the people.

With their strenuous efforts keeping the legacy alive are Mr. Rajan N. Lokegaonkar and Mrs. Shubhada R. Lokegaonkar who continued to serve the cause from early 1980s and introduced new age educational technologies and extracurricular activities for holistic development of the students. Situated in Cotton Green, Mumbai, Castle Black International School has incorporated the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum, a UK-based framework along with Japanese Early Childhood Education Philosophy for nurturing early learners. This sets out to be the fresh format for schooling in Mumbai.
